e believe that Christ’s last command should be our first concern. Heritage Baptist Church exists for the sole purpose of fulfilling the great commission of our Lord when He said,

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19-20

We must introduce this world to Jesus Christ, and help them to grow in His grace. Each ministry of HBC is designed with this purpose in mind. From the children’s programs to the senior adult ministries, the mission is the same. On the individual level and as a family unit, we want to impact each life with the wonderful message of God’s Word. Some of our ministries include:

Bus Ministry

Faithful servants in our Bus Ministry take time each week to visit the homes of those who ride by bus or van to the church services. In addition to regularly visiting those currently riding, these servants take time to seek out others in need of transportation. Riders are treated to singing and games on the way to and from the church, in addtion to frequent contests designed to encourage faithfulness.

Nurseries

At each public service, and during every special meeting, our church provides nursery care for the very little. Heritage Baptist Church affords our little ones (and their parents) clean, spacious, secure and safe nursery areas. Nearly every nursery worker has been CPR certified, and is a member in good standing of the Church. Singing, socialization, and all necessary care are lovingly shared with each little one present in the nurseries.

Sunday School and Junior Church

With classes for every age group, from two-years old to adults, our Sunday school ministry helps bring Bible truths to the level that each person needs. In addition to our graded children’s classes, we also offer Sunday School classes for Singles, College and Career, a Ladies Class, as well as the Pastor’s Auditorium Class.

At 11:00, while the adults gather in the auditorium, the young people are treated to a graded Junior Church Program that ministers to their needs. Singing and games, as well as Bible stories and teaching keep and hold the interest of the little ones each Sunday morning.

Patch The Pirate Club

Patch ClubPatch the Pirate is a program developed by Ron Hamilton and his wife, Shelly. Ron “Patch” lost his left eye to cancer over twenty years ago. Since that time the Lord has given him and his wife a wonderful opportunity to minister to children through this club.

Each week Bible lessons, Scripture memory, character building song, and a daily devotional guide are designed to work together to promote faithfulness and Godly character in our children’s lives. In addition, each child will have an opportunity to serve the Lord through a monthly musical presentation. Through Patch the Pirate Club, each child will receive the benefit of both musical and Biblical instruction.

Patch the Pirate is for children in Grades 2-6, and meets weekly on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m.

Pee Wee Club

Pee Wee Club is the younger version of the Patch the Pirate Club. Pee Wee Club is for children ages 4-6. Pee Wee Pirate Club focuses on a unit for about 5 weeks in which they learn a theme song, memorize scripture, and have Godly character lessons that are taught through stories, songs, and activity pages. They learn about the importance of a relationship with God while having a great time.

The Bible To You

The Bible To YouThe Bible to You is a mail correspondence Bible study. Participants are able to study God’s Word systematically while discovering the practical truths found in the Scriptures. This course has been a blessing and encouragement to many. Brother Matt Gaffney heads this program with the help of his church family.
